Finding the ZZZ in all of the $%!@

Having trouble sleeping lately? You are not alone. Most workers say the financial crisis is keeping them awake at night, a recent survey found. That sounds bogus, but I myself have had trouble sleeping, so I believe it. I think the economy is just like a mattress; it's hard to sleep soundly when your base doesn't have the right firmness.

Today some sleep tips arrived in my inbox from SparkPeople, but it seemed to be the same old "drink warm milk." Also, the e-mail seemed overrun by news alerts about the downfall of the media industry (good commentary here), so my sleep-o-meter remained balanced out.

But remember, it's just a financial crisis, not an economic crisis, according to The Oblivious Investor. OK, thanks, I'm no longer worried ...

Sarcasm aside, it is helpful to remember that we can get the economy back in order, kind of like the media. Things can reemerge as better things. Meanwhile, I'm going to watch paint dry.
