Everywhere you turn there is a feature about Zappos.com and what a great place to work it is. I recommend the New York Times interview with Tony Hsieh, the chief executive of Zappos.com.In case you don't know, at the online shoe vendor Zappos.com, work culture is very important. They actually like employees to have fun. The payback is that happier employees equal better customer service equal happier customers.
At a a job interview for Zappos.com, you might be asked to rate how weird you are on a scale of 1 to 10. Says Hsieh: "If you’re a 1, you’re probably a little bit too strait-laced for us. If you’re a 10, you might be too psychotic for us."
If Hsieh's philosophy of having fun on the job works, just imagine the possibilities! People loving their jobs all over the place! Mass hysteria.
